The Drake Cutlass Red (also known as DCR2) is an emergency response and support ship with a comprehensive medical bay, long-range radar capabilities, and a suite of defensive options. More than just a top-flight emergency responder, the Cutlass Red is a highly regarded support vessel for hazardous combat, recon, and exploration.

- Spotlight: Top-mounted spotlight with bright concentrated beam controllable by second pilot seat helps in navigating through rescue operations
- Medical Bay: Medical Bay consists of one 2-person bunk bed and two Tier 3 medical beds, with 800k uSCU internal storage each, that are capable of treating two patients suffering from minor injuries, while in-built AutoDoc allows stabilizing them if they affected by more severe bodily damage, until they are delivered to larger medical facility at stations. Additionally, as of Alpha 4.3.1, these beds enable players to regenerate up to 50 km away
- Secure Side Airlocks: Access to the medical bay on both sides through airlocks allows for quick delivery of injured patients from zero-g, while being mostly inaccessible while in the environment of gravity
- Nav-E7 Echo Scanner: Long-range radar with capabilities of enhanced search allowing for quick rescue operations
- SureGrip Tractor Mount: A rear-oriented tractor mount to add valuable assistance for recovery and retrieval missions
- Cargo: The Cutlass Red has the capability of carrying up to 12 SCUs of cargo with its hold as well as 3.43K uSCU of internal stowage. Thanks to its rear ramp, the ship can carry some ground vehicles like the Mule, PTV and STV leaving enough space to exit and enter ship
- Crew Area: Despite tendency of other ships in Drake's Cutlass series with no basic necessities, the Cutlass Red has a spacious crew area which includes 2-person bunk bed, a toilet, two 1500k uSCU storage lockers and gun rack for 4 weapons
